Prairie Brewpub

Tulsa, OK

Prairie Brewpub is a restaurant and microbrewery located in the former Universal Ford showroom in the heart of the Tulsa Arts District. The building’s west facade contained the original showroom which featured a mosaic tile floor where Model T’s would be lined up along the windows and  fireplace where customers gathered to finalize transactions to purchase a car. The 5,000 square feet of unglazed porcelain hex tile and fireplace were carefully restored to original condition.

The area is a large volume of space that required intentional solutions to partition without physically dividing. The focal point is a foeder, an 8-by-10 foot beer-brewing barrel, that holds 20 taps for beers. The bar is on a radius around it. A dining ellipse on one side houses dining booths and breaks up the volume of space. A larger dining space and private dining area round out the brew pub.
